LEEP NEWS - March 6, 2008
Your Contributions At Work

Because of our participation in the MESDT
(Mars Exploration Student Data Team) program, two team members have been invited to participate in the Lunar and Planetary Science Conference (LPSC) held in Houston, Texas (near the Johnson Space Center) during the week of March 9th through the 14th.  They will be
accompanied on the trip by Mr. Brian Sheldon. This trip has been made possible by LEEP (Livonia Exceptional Education Program), who's purpose is to provide Livonia Central School students with real life experiences in the sciences, arts, and humanities.

This is certainly an exciting opportunity for these students. If you'd like to learn more about our MESDT team, go to the Livonia MESDT team website. (The easiest way to find it is to google "MESDT Livonia.")

The LEEP program offers an opportunity for
students to apply for educational experiences
that are beyond the scope of the typical high
school program.  For example, in the spring
of 2007, students traveled to "El Yunque"
National Park in Puerto Rico to study the
tropical rain forest from an environmental
studies lens while experiencing the Spanish
language and cultural influences that Puerto
Rico affords.

Your generosity could help create meaningful
experiences that will shape our students
understanding of the world and career
opportunities that exist beyond Livonia.
