BOCES INFORMATION
BOCES Start date
BOCES programming will begin on Wednesday, August 5. This will be a conference day for Livonia Schools. If your student wishes to attend their BOCES program on that day, Livonia will provide transportation. Please call the main office at 346-4000 ext. 1002 and let Mrs. Patterson know if you are going to attend BOCES and will need transportation. Please call by Tuesday September 4. NOTE: Programs with mandated hours (such as cosmetology) should consider attending so as not to be short on required course program hours.
BOCES Calendar
There are several days during the 2007-08 school year that the BOCES and Livonia school calendars are not aligned. Listed below is what is expected of the student on certain days and a list of those days.
Livonia – ½ day – If your student attends BOCES in the AM, they will attend BOCES as usual
and, upon returning from BOCES, will be released around noon. If your student attends BOCES in the PM, they must attend their Livonia classes and their BOCES classes as usual. Students need to provide their own lunch. Transportation home will be provided by the school.
DATES: November 29 and 30, March 6 and 7
BOCES not in session, but Livonia is – Students are required to attend their scheduled classes at Livonia. NOTE: Students may leave school, if they don't have any classes, providing they have written permission from their parents and it is turned into the assistant principal's office prior to leaving.
DATES: January 25, April 9 and 10, and May 23.
Livonia not in session, but BOCES is – Since transportation is not available, students are not required to attend BOCES and this will be an excused absence. Students may opt to provide their own transportation and attend their BOCES classes.
DATES: October 26, January 28, February 21 and 22
Livonia – ½ day, but BOCES is not in session - If your student attends BOCES in the AM, they should report for their 1st block class and with written permission from the parent the student may leave after 1st block and return for their 4th block classes. If the student does not return, they will be considered truant from their afternoon class. Afternoon BOCES students will be excused after their 2nd block class with written permission from the parent. Permission slips should be turned into Mr. Whittel's office before leaving school.

REMINDER: STUDENTS MAY NOT DRIVE ANY OTHER STUDENT(S) TO BOCES IN THEIR VEHICLE. PLEASE REFER TO PAGE 22 IN THE STUDENT HANDBOOK REGARDING BOCES STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES.
