    The purpose of this summit is to provide attendees with the knowledge, latest research, and strategies to enhance their Physical Education & Strength and Conditioning programs through six - 60-minute presentations (30 mins lecture, 30 hands-on in the weight facility).

    NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) certified individuals are eligible to receive 0.6 CEU(s) in category A for attending this event.

Nate Harvey

Nate Harvey, M.S., CSCS, has joined the elitefts team as the Executive Equipment Specialist and brings years of experience and knowledge of athletic disciplines to our customers. Nate developed his vast athletic history as the former Head Strength Coach of Olympic sports at The State University of New York at Buffalo. During his ten years at UB, he coached their first ever national champion (shot put), four-team conference champions (one back to back), eight of the schools twelve total All-Americans, 18 Olympic Trial qualifiers, over 50 individual conference champions, 16 individual national qualifiers, and over 75 individual regional qualifiers using the Conjugate Method. He is also a Strength and Conditioning Consultant for the New York Jets. He was certified in Reflexive Performance Reset in February of 2017. His best total is 2450 in the 308 weight class multi-ply division. In the 275-pound class, his best total is 2250 sans supraspinatus. His best lifts are a 1000-pound squat, 750-pound bench, and 750-pound deadlift. Nate looks forward to helping address all of your equipment needs.

Joe Aratari, CFSC, FMS, is a young up and coming Strength & Conditioning Coach. Joseph Aratari’s impressive resume already includes his role as the Penfield Central School District (NY) Strength Coach, New York State Director of the National High School Strength Coach Association and Strength Coach, Manager and Director of HS Strength & Conditioning at Next Level. Joseph has quickly built a strong culture at Penfield, which emphasizes communication, discipline and accountability. He is most passionate about providing quality strength and conditioning to the HS level to schools and sport coaches. Joseph’s athletic accomplishments include playing D3 soccer for 4 years at Plattsburgh State while winning 2 SUNYAC Championships.

Jason Oszvart

Jason Oszvart, M.S., CSCS, SCCC, is in his 6th year in the NFL and his 4th season with the Buffalo Bills. Two seasons under Head Coach Sean McDermott, and two seasons under Head Coach Rex Ryan. Prior to the Bills, Jason spent 2 seasons with the New York Jets under Ryan. Before joining the NFL, Oszvart spent time on the strength and conditioning staff at Rutgers University (2009 Intern), Villanova University (2010-2011 Intern), and the University of Kansas (2012 Intern). Oszvart joined the NFL as a Strength and Conditioning Intern with the New York Jets in 2013 and was promoted to Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach in 2014. In 2015, he joined Coach Ryan in Buffalo and continued his tenure on staff with Coach McDermott in 2017.

Nate VanKouwenberg, MA, CFSC, USAW, is the founder and owner of Next Level Strength and Conditioning and the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the RIT Men’s Hockey Team. Nate’s company has earned a strong reputation in the Rochester area, offering the latest in sports performance and general fitness training to clients of all ages and skill levels. He is entering his 13th year as a Physical Education and Health Teacher at Victor. In addition, Van Kouwenberg runs Pro Level Total Hockey Training, a program that organizes and on-ice/off-ice NHL caliber training for local professional, college, junior, and prep school hockey players each summer. A 2003 graduate of The College at Brockport, VanKouwenberg earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education. In 2009, he earned his master’s degree in health studies from the University of Alabama.

Christopher Chapman

Christopher Chapman, MSc., CSEP-CEP, CSCS, ISAK-1, NCCP, is the Director of Sports Science for PUSH, a Canadian based company on the forefront of pairing science with sport with their accelerometers that help athletes perform at their best and help coaches make informed training decisions. Chris is also currently a Lecturer at U Toronto, an S&C coach with Freestyle Ski Canada and Paddle Monster, a company that trains professional Stand Up Paddlers and Surfski Kayakers around the world. Prior to PUSH, Chris was the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at the Canadian Sport Institute Ontario (CSIO). CSIO is the government not-for-profit that supports Canadian Olympic and Paralympic athletes. In addition to being part of the leadership team and managing 12 strength coaches and 2 facilities, he was directly responsible for the training and testing of our national teams in CanoeKayak, Gymnastics, Freestyle Ski, Ice Hockey and Cycling.

James Whelan

James Whelan, M.S., R.D., CSCS, is the founder and owner of Resilience Nutrition and a Health Wellness Specialist for RIT's Better Me Wellness team (corporate wellness). As a Registered Dietitian, James has worked with a wide variety of clients, from college athletes to master's athlete to the everyday fitness enthusiast. He currently works with more than 20 private clients in an effort to optimize their nutrition for their specific performance needs. Since launching Resilience Nutrition in 2017, James has worked with over 50 private clients. At RIT, James' responsibilities range from nutrition counseling to private strength & conditioning to group fitness classes. James' athletic accomplishments include 2x All-State Team boys soccer, Captain of 2009 NYS Class B Championship Team boys soccer, Captain of RIT Men's Soccer Team (played 2 years), Regional CrossFit Games Athlete, and has competed in worldwide Crossfit competitions (Granite Games, Wodapoolza) for 3+ years.
