Livonia Lunch & Learns
Livonia Alumni are coming back to school for our current students! The latest Education to Employment offering for students kicks off in October and will be offered each month through May during all high school and middle school lunch periods. Our next speaker is:
Wednesday, April 10, Nathan Benetez will be here to talk about his career in IT and Security. He graduated from Livonia in 1997 and joined the military. Come to the Lunch and Learn to find out how he went from the military to IT professional. An interesting career path, for sure. Sign up in the counseling center.
Students may join them during lunch as they discuss their careers. Students learn about a typical day, hear about paths to employment, industry outlooks, salary potential, how their current course work relates to the real world and more! Sign-ups are in the Middle School office or with Mrs. Pease and in the High School counseling center.
The job shadow requirement which all freshman, sophomores, and juniors need to fulfill can be done through the L3 experience. Attendance is taken at all Lunch and Learns and the hours spent will be credited toward the job shadow requirement. Each L3 attended will count for 30 minutes of job shadow. Students must be prompt and attend the entire presentation for it to count for job shadowing hours.
If you are or know alumni who might be interested in presenting for L3, please contact us via email or phone using the information provided at our Lunch and Learns webpage. It is a once time commitment (small groups in a conference room - three, thirty minute lunch periods - one day). Our students are inspired by our Livonia graduates. Please consider coming in or we can set up a video conference.
