no cost meals

I am pleased to announce that beginning Wednesday, November 1, 2023, all students attending Livonia Central School, PK-12, may receive one complete school breakfast and one complete school lunch per school day at NO COST to your household.

This implementation of this program is a result of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) expanding access to the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). CEP allows eligible schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs to offer school meals at NO CHARGE to all students. NO-COST meals will be available for all Livonia students, PK-12, starting November 1, 2023 and continue for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year. Please note that CEP participation in future school years may depend on continued availability of Federal and State funds.

No further action is required by families.  You will also find an attached FAQ that will answer some questions you may have.

Any second meals, additional entrees, extra milk, or a la carte snack items are not free and will still need to be purchased, even after November 1st. Students will need money on account or cash for any of these additional purchases. Additionally, any current existing student meal debt will still need to be paid off accordingly.  Remember, you can see your student’s account history and add money to their account at www.myschoolbucks.com. To add money to your student’s account by check, please make the check payable to Livonia Central School and send it in to the school. Students are not allowed to charge additional meals, extra milk, and a la carte snack items if they have no funds on their account or no cash to purchase them with.

Additionally, because Livonia CSD is now operating under the Community Eligibility Provision, all families of students are eligible for a $30 credit on their monthly internet service fee.  Please see the attached documents for more information. We are hopeful that all families will take advantage of this opportunity to save $360/year on their internet connection fees.

If you have any questions regarding the school meals program, please reach out to Rebecca Schorer at 585-346-4060, rschorer@livoniacsd.org or Jennifer Leidlein, Business Manager at 585-346-4004, jleidlein@livoniacsd.org.

Sincerely,
Dr. Jeremy Lonneville Superintendent of Schools
