The Lakers were sluggish to start the game, falling behind 3-0 after the first quarter and 5-1 at the half. Goalie Matthew Beachel kept his team in the game during that sluggish first half as he made 11 of his season high 14 saves. Jackson McEnerney had the Lakers lone goal in the second quarter. The boys started to turn things around in the second half, outscoring the Red Raiders by a score of 3-2 with Shane Melead, Josh Schirtz and Matthew Connor all having goals to make the score 7-4 after 3 quarters. The defense continued to get stronger as the game progressed with Jon Crye, Michael Neckers, Alex Mayen, Colby Percey and Austin Randolph increased their defensive pressure and made things uncomfortable for the Pal-Mac offense. Matthew Connor scored his second of the game just over a minute into the 4th quarter which helped turn the momentum in the favor of the Lakers. Three minutes later, Justin Skelly scored on an extra-man advantage, followed by Derrick Wigley forcing a tie just 70 seconds later. However, Pal-Mac won the ensuing faceoff and scored the eventual game winner just 20 seconds afterwards. The Lakers did have a number of decent looks over the last few minutes of the game but were unsuccessful in getting one past the Red Raiders goalie to tie it up. With the loss the Lakers fall to 2-1 on the season as they enter a period where they don’t play another game until April 20th. Highlights for the Lakers included: Matthew Connor – 2 goals, 2 assists and 5 groundballs Shane Melead – 1 goal, 1 assist and 2 groundballs Derrick Wigley – 1 goal, 2 groundballs Jackson McEnerney – 1 goal, 5 groundballs Josh Schirtz – 1 goal Justin Skelly – 1 goal, 3 groundballs Christian Rumfola – 1 assist, 2 caused turnovers Matthew Beachel – 14 saves, 7 groundballs Jonathon Crye – 4 groundballs Michael Neckers – 3 groundballs Alex Mayen – 2 groundballs, 2 caused turnovers

Weekend Wrap Up ⚾ Varsity Baseball lost to Avon 8-1. Avon took the lead in the 1st inning after 6 walks from Livonia pitching and no hits. Jack Kearney came in and pitched 2 1/3 innings striking out 2, and walking none to keep the game close. Kearney and Luke Stewart got 2 hits for the Bulldogs."We have walked 20 batters in 2 games, I thought that our pitching would keep us close but not up to this point. It's been disappointing to say the least." Coach Gilman 🥍 Girls Varsity Lacrosse secured their second victory of the season in Friday night's home opener against Wayne. Although the weather was frigid, the entire team showed up with high energy right from the start. Anna Cinquino, led the team with 4 draw controls, followed closely by Sidney Clickner with 3 draw controls for Livonia. The bulldogs were very effective in the attacking end, working together and capitalizing on as many scoring opportunities as possible. Sidney Clickner and Maryn Gammon lead the team with 3 goals each. Kelsey Stewart and Kylie Buckley both tallied one assist for the Bulldogs, waiting for the perfect opportunities to thread the needle for their teammates. Five different athletes were able to get on the board (Buckley, Cinquino, Clickner, Gammon, and Stewart) with a final score of 11-4. As a whole, the team picked up a total of 23 ground balls, with Maddy King leading the Bulldogs with 3 for the game. On the defensive end, the girls showed up and did their job as a unit just as they've done in the past three games. Sabrina Adamson led the team statistically with 2 ground balls and 1 caused turnover, while the rest of our starting defenders (Ryan, Perdue and Whitford) were all able to tally 1 ground ball for the game. Cami Rode had a stand out game running defensive mid, securing 1 draw control and 2 ground balls, while she worked endlessly and provided consistent support to her teammates all across the field. Mia Martucio started in goal for the bulldogs, making 3 saves, while Courtney Schirtz finished the game making 1 save in net. Thursday Night Wrap-up ⚾ Varsity Baseball lost to Medina 7-2 🥍 Boys Varsity Lacrosse travelled to Bath last night for their second consecutive GRALL matchup of the season, this time coming away with a 20-7 win against the host Haverling Rams. The Lakers started out strong once again as Jackson McEnerney found the back of the net after a feed from Justin Skelly just 80 seconds into the game. The Rams would tie things up less than 2 minutes later, but that’s as close as it would get for the remainder of the game. The Lakers would proceed to score 7 more goals in the quarter, including 6 in just over 3 minutes. Derrick Wigley scored 3 of his game high 6 goals during that scoring outburst. It was more of the same as the Lakers continued their offensive dominance in the second quarter as they scored the first 6 goals on their way to a halftime lead of 16-4. Solid, physical defense, great ground ball play and solid goaltending kept the Rams in check all game long allowing the Lakers to come away with the big win! The defensive unit, led by Owen Weterrings, Jon Crye, Colby Percey, Austin Randolph, Alec Mayen and Michael Neckers were solid all night, and goalies Matt Beachel and Nic Teachout combined for 6 saves on the evening. The Lakers were all over the field as they collected almost 20 more groundballs than the Rams. Statistical highlights for the Lakers were: Derrick Wigley (6 goals, 2 assists) Justin Skelly (4 goals, 2 assists, 6 groundballs) Matthew Connor (3 goals, 3 assists, 14 groundballs, 11 faceoff wins, 3 caused turnovers) Jackson McEnerney (4 goals, 1 assist) Christian Rumfola (1 goal, 3 assists, 3 groundballs, 5 faceoff wins) Josh Schirtz (1 goal) Shane Melead (1 goal) Hunter Rumfola (6 faceoff wins) Owen Weterrings (5 groundballs)

As we entered overtime, Livonia's defense was able to shut down Brockport in the first 3 minute overtime period, giving them one more opportunity to get the ball in the attacking end. Eighth grader, Sidney Clickner, came up with a huge draw control to gain possession in the second 3 minute over time period. Once the bulldogs got the ball in the offensive end, junior Kylie Buckley was able to put the ball in the back of the net for the game winning goal.
