🏈Season Wrap-up The Bulldog football team traveled to Attica this past Friday for a Sectional quarterfinal matchup against Attica-Alexander. The Dawgs were looking to avenge a regular season loss to a very tough A-A squad. The Bulldogs came ready to play on this beautiful late October night and dominated A-A for the first 2 quarters of play. The Dawgs received the opening kickoff and proceeded to churn out 5 first downs that ended up consuming the whole 1st quarter of play that saw Jackson Trubia sneak the ball in from the 1-yard line to give the Dawgs an early lead of 7 - 0, with a PAT by Levi Woolston. The Bulldogs Offensive line led by Jackson Cook, Tommy Stewart, Zach Williamson, Wyatt Shannon, Alex Bohrer, and AJ Peri controlled the line of scrimmage while keeping Attica's offense on the sidelines. When A-A finally got the ball in the 2nd quarter, Livonia's defense was up to the challenge and forced A-A to punt on their first 2 possessions, The Bulldog offense did manage to move the ball in the 2nd quarter but was unable to get into the end zone. The Dawgs were poised to go into halftime leading by 7, but A-A scored on a desperation pass with no time left on the clock in the first half which tied the game at 7, The Bulldogs kicked the ball to A-A to start the 2nd half and a good return gave A-A great field position, and they would take advantage of that and score on a 29-yard run that pushed them into the lead. A-A would not relinquish their lead and would score 3 more times in the 2nd half to come away with a 35 to 7 win. Livonia was led on Offense by Senior Kyle Wetterings who had 55 yards on the night. The defense was anchored by Junior Derrick Lane who had his best game of the season leading the way with 8 tackles and some outstanding punts that helped keep A-A in a bad field position. Senior defensive lineman Zach Williamson had another stellar night on defense chipping in with 5 tackles while Seniors LB Alex Bohrer (5 tackles) and Owen Wetterings (6 tackles and a fumble recovery). Junior CB Aveion Santiago got his nose in on several tackles as well throughout the game. Senior Carlos Vega Meyer made his presence felt late in the game with a couple of defensive stops as well. The Bulldogs graduate 14 Seniors from this team and will look for an undefeated JV team to help out in 2024.

Weekend Wrap-up ⚽The Boys Soccer team hosted Leroy in a Class B quarterfinal match on Saturday night. The Oatkan Knights proved to be a worthy adversary and took the Bulldogs all the way to the wire. Brady O’Keefe scored the game’s only goal in the 75th minute, assisted by James Spezzano. Kaidan O’Connor and Gavin Woolston combined for the team’s 11th shutout. “Man of the Match” was Brady O’Keefe for his efforts at both ends of the field. The boys advance to the semifinal round next Wednesday against Hornell in Geneseo at 7 p.m. Photos courtesy Meys Photography ⚽The Varsity Livonia girls seeded 7 had a tremendous upset against No. 2 seeded Canisteo-Greenwood Saturday to advance to the Class B semifinals. Livonia's goals were scored by Avery Bernard and Eliza Parker in their 2-0 victory. They play Tuesday at 5 p.m. in Penn Yan vs Mynderse. Photos courtesy Meys Photography 🏈The Livonia Bulldogs traveled to Bishop Kearney this past Saturday for their final regular season game of 2023, looking to gain some momentum heading into Sectional play. They came away with a convincing 42 to 6 win and will have an opportunity to extend their season for at least one more game. Livonia forced a Bishop Kearney on their first series and Livonia's first score was set up by a Kyle Wetterings punt return to the Bishop Kearney 2-yard line. Jackson Trubia would run it in from 2 yards out to put Livonia on the board. The Bulldogs' defense would stall another Bishop Kearney possession in the first quarter and get the ball back. Trubia would once again score on a QB keeper from 1 yard out and Levi Woolston would add the extra point to make it 14 to 0. Late in the first quarter, Bishop Kearney would get on the scoreboard with a 15-yard pass reception. In the second quarter, Livonia's defense came up big again as Seth Eadie intercepted a B-K pass and took it into the end zone from 29 yards out. Eady would have 2 interceptions on the day. Later in the second quarter, Livonia would put up another score, this time from a 59-yard run from Kyle Wetterings. Kyle would have his best-rushing game of the year as he finished up with 174 yards. The Bulldogs took a 28 to 6 lead into halftime. Livonia would come out in the second half and add 2 more touchdowns, compliments of Owen Wetterings who scored twice in the third quarter, one from 25 yards out and the other from 19 yards out. Owen finished the day with 148 yards as Livonia's offensive line was dominant and would lead the way in the Bulldogs ground attack as the Dawgs finished up with 360 yards on the ground. Jacob Benitez would add 10 yards and Wyatt Zeismer would finish with 1 rush for 15 yards. Defensively, the Bulldogs were led by Eadie's 2 Interceptions. Tommy Stewart and Zach Williamson would chip in with 2 sacks each and 7 and 8 tackles respectively. Levi Woolston would connect on all of his extra points in the game and finished 6 for 6 in points after attempts. The Bulldogs will continue their season next weekend against Attica-Alexander in the first round of sectional play. Day and time to be determined. 🏐The JV Volleyball team finished their season at a Tournament at Byron-Bergen on Saturday. They won 1 out of 4 matches played.
