Wednesday Night Wrap-up 🎿Last night the Alpine Ski team raced in fog and rain at Swain. The boy’s team was led by George Christian’s 2nd place finish and Caden Cavo’s 5th place finish. The modified team saw four racers finish in the top 10, led by Rowyn Carter’s 5th place, Courtney Potts 7th place, Abby Coyne’s 8th place, and Audrey DeBolt’s 10th place. 🏀On Wednesday night, the Livonia Varsity Boys Basketball team extended its winning streak to five games with a 49-29 victory at Wayland-Cohocton. The game presented a unique challenge as the Eagles successfully disrupted Livonia's offensive rhythm by employing a 3-2 zone for most of the contest. However, Livonia's response was led by sharpshooting from Connor Feehan and Nicholas Coyle, who knocked down key 3-pointers to widen the gap after Quarter 1 ended in an 11-11 tie. Senior shooting guard Feehan led all players with 17 points while classmate forward Thomas Stewart nearly secured a double-double, contributing 9 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Jackson Cook, another senior forward, added 7 points and dominated the boards with 14. The Bulldogs now set their sights on a rematch at home against the formidable Hornell Red Raiders on Friday. Reflecting on tonight's game, Coach Martin emphasized the importance of extracting the positives and locking in during Thursday's practice for the upcoming challenge. Let's rally together as the ‘dogs aim to continue their impressive run and present to the community two groups of Bouncin’ Bulldogs as halftime entertainment! 🏀Outscoring York by 10 points in the SECOND OVERTIME, Varsity Lady Bulldogs won 71 to 61 on the road! Freshman Molly Hitchcock went 4 for 4 from the charity stripe scoring 6 of her 10 points in the final overtime period. The Lady Bulldogs were led by Senior Captain Mary Kwak with 23 points. She scored 5 of our 6 points in the first overtime giving us momentum to finish the job! Kierstin Einhiple scored a crucial 3 in the final period finishing with 16 points. Senior Captain Libby Kwak finished with 13 and Senior Captain Emma King added another 10. Very exciting night for Livonia Lady Bulldogs Basketball - thank you girls! Photos courtesy Meys Photography 🏀JV Lady Bulldogs took it down to the wire pulling out a 43 to 40 win in York! Weekend Wrap Up 🏊‍♂️The Boys Swimming and Diving team competed at the LCAA championship meet this past Saturday in Bath. The boys won in the last event, outscoring second place Avon by two points, 489-487. The team posted an unreal 68 best times throughout the meet. Top three finishers were: Lincoln Garwood - 3rd in the 50 free and 2nd in the 100 free, Zach Williamson - 3rd in the 500 free, Thomas Frisbie, Gavin Seeley, Noah Rode, Lincoln Garwood - 1st in the 200 Free Relay, Thomas Frisbie - 2nd in the breaststroke, and Zach Williamson, Gavin Seeley, Noah Rode, Lincoln Garwood - 3rd in the 400 Free Relay. This is the Bulldogs 9th year in a row at the LCAA championship meet. Next meet is Class B Sectionals; diving 2/3, and swimming 2/7 & 2/9. Photos courtesy Deanna Frisbee and LCAAs Finest 🤼‍♂️The Bulldogs went to Wayland -Cohocton for the LCAA Wrestling Championships on Saturday. 4 JV wrestlers placed in the finals with Aaron L (116lbs)and Brandon S (215lbs) taking 4th, Keira W (124lbs) placing 6th and Jack A (138lbs) making the podium for taking 2nd place. Varsity had 5 wrestlers in the finals. Chayse B (116lbs) and Zack Y (145lbs) took 4th, Issac S (138lbs) claimed 5th. Destiny L (124lbs) and the only female wrestler to make podium at the Varsity level took 6th place with Ryan A (170) also claiming 6th. Myles J (152lbs) fought for 1st place becoming the County Champion with a pin in the 3rd period. The team and Head Coach, David Yamin were also presented with the LCAA Ray Connell “Team Sportsmanship Award” - what an honor and a wonderful way to represent Livonia, way to go! Photos courtesy Monica Jarzyna 🏒Saturday afternoon the Lakers faced off against the CNY Fusion (Fulton/ Liverpool HS's) Lakers suffered a loss the first time they faced the Fusion in December. On home ice in Geneseo, the Lakers came out strong and played a very chippy, physical game all three periods. Both teams saw a number of minor penalties, which led to some exciting power plays throughout the game. Ryan O'Duffy capitalized on a beautiful slapshot from Jack Noto (Gen) tipping in a goal to start the scoring in the first. The Fusion answered back with a goal soon after. In the third, O'Duffy again knocked one in on a pass from Matt Mulvaney. The Fusion again answered back with a scramble in front of Lakers senior keeper Nick Lipome (Avon). Regulation ended tied 2-2. There was no scoring in OT even when the Lakers were down a player due to a tripping call on Joey Cinquino, our defense, led by Dom Agosto (Gen) and Jared Bishop, stood strong. The game ended in a 2-2 tie. The score of this game definitely did not reflect the work effort of the Lakers. At the end of regulation, the Lakers had logged over 50 shots on goal! The Lakers play away on Friday 1/26 in Buffalo against Lockport. Then they will play again at home on Sunday 1/28 against Broome County Hockey, where the Lakers will celebrate senior night. Please join us at 12:30 at the Ira, on the SUNY Geneseo campus, to honor our 11 seniors. Puck drop on Sunday will be at 1pm. 🏀Girls Varsity basketball was tied at 45 after 3 when East went on a 12 to 2 run to win the game 70 to 58. Thursday Wrap-up 🏊‍♂️The Boys Swimming and DIving team beat Bath, 90-78. The team racked up 18 best times throughout the meet. Lanechain swimmer of the meet is "BT" Brian Travis for his second place finish in the fly and personal best time in the 200 free relay. The team's record is 6-3 on the season with the next meet being on Saturday, 1/13 @ Dansville. 🏀In a hard-fought battle, the Livonia Varsity Boys Basketball team emerged victorious at home against Haverling Wednesday night with a final score of 66-58. After falling behind 20-18 at the end of Quarter 1, Livonia made a pivotal defensive adjustment and outscored Haverling 19-8 in Quarter 2 and 20-9 in Quarter 3, establishing a lead they maintained through the final horn. Another key to Livonia's success was balanced scoring from the “big four”: senior Connor Feehan (14 points, including 4 3-pointers), senior Jackson Cook (14 points), senior Thomas Stewart (13 points), and junior Nicholas Coyle (13 points). Senior Gavin Woolston made some noise coming off of the bench, delivering two crucial baskets that stifled Haverling mini-runs. Feehan contributed 5 assists and 5 rebounds; Coyle added 8 assists and 3 rebounds; Cook had 4 assists and 4 rebounds; and Stewart and senior Lucas Ray were big on the boards, each finishing with 7. Despite Haverling's late-game efforts, Livonia's defensive adjustments and collective contributions were ultimately the difference. Haverling's Jake Hagadone led all scorers with an impressive and hard-earned 28 points. The Bulldogs battle again at home on Friday versus the Dansville Mustangs. Photos courtesy Meys Photography 🎿Ski results are posted separately, but congrats to both Varsity teams coming in 1st and the Mod Squad picking up 3rd.
