🔶🔷 Throwback Thursday – Jesse VanEpps 🔷🔶
Once a Bulldog, Always a Bulldog! 💙🧡
Meet Jesse VanEpps, Class of 2001, who now brings his passion for education and the arts back to Livonia every day. He teaches a range of social studies and elective courses including Global History, Economics, Government, and Theater—and next year, he's adding Pop Culture in U.S. History to the mix! 🎭📚 He also leads the way behind the scenes as the Artistic Director for the high school and middle school musicals and serves as the Drama Club Advisor.
💬 In Jesse’s own words:
"I wasn't a Livonia native—Livonia was actually the third school I attended before the 8th grade. All that meant was, even at a young age, I was able to see first hand that Livonia wasn't like other schools—Livonia was special. It always felt like an exception to me—a small town school that never settled for being 'small.' Livonia dreams it bigger, and Livonia does it bigger. On every level—student, teacher and admin alike, the expectations are bigger. In return, the response and support we get from this community is bigger than most other schools ever get to experience. Our academic offerings, our art and music programs, our club offerings, our sports teams—none of them play down to a small school level. This is what makes this place so special—and the culture I love helping to build."
"Nowadays, my own family's journey has us settled in a community outside of Livonia. While it may be bigger, and quite a ways away from here—Livonia is still a place we consider a second home. My kids still rock their orange and blue, and beg weekly to come down to watch a rehearsal, play with the treasures in the Connell Prop room or see their 'Livonia friends' that have watched them all grow up. When they learn about my daily commute, my students will often stop class to ask me why I am willing to drive 'so far every day just to teach at Livonia.' My response? I am willing to drive so far every day ONLY BECAUSE it's Livonia. I love this place, what it has meant to me, and what it continues to stand for—and I feel lucky to be a part of it."
Thank you, Mr. VanEpps, for being such a meaningful part of what makes Livonia exceptional.

May 11 through May 17, 2025, is Police Week. May 15, 2025, is Peace Officers Memorial Day.
On Peace Officers Memorial Day and during Police Week, we honor our brave officers who serve on the front lines to protect our families, safeguard our communities, and shoulder a burden of responsibility that most Americans cannot fathom. 🧠📚 Academic Challenge Bowl Playoffs Update 📚🧠
Our brilliant Bulldogs hit the buzzers hard on Monday at the Academic Challenge Bowl Playoffs! 💥
💡 Livonia started strong, dominating Bloomfield with a 200–85 victory in the opening round! In the quarterfinals, they held tight against a tough McQuaid team, but the Knights pulled away late for a 195–105 win. (Yes… McQuaid again! 😤 They also ended our MasterMinds run a few weeks ago!)
Despite the close loss, this squad has so much to be proud of! Since October, this was their only loss all season—and the best part? Most of this young, powerhouse team is coming back next year! 🙌🎓
🔥 Top Scorers of the Day:
• Nolan C. – 80 pts

🔶🔷 Throwback Thursday – Kassie Loomis 🔷🔶
Once a Bulldog, Always a Bulldog! 🐾
🎓 Class of 2017
🍎 Current Role:
PreK Teacher at Livonia
Varsity Cheerleading Assistant Coach 📣
Summer Skills & Enrichment Camp Teacher ☀️
🧡💙 Why Kassie loves being back at Livonia:
"I absolutely love teaching in the same school district that I grew up in because it feels like coming full circle. As a student, I was shaped by the teachers, staff, and community, and now I get to contribute to that same environment. It’s incredibly meaningful to work in a place where I know the culture, the values, and the challenges students face because I was once in their shoes. There’s something special about knowing that I can make a direct impact on the next generation of students in the community that helped shape me.
Being part of Livonia brings a sense of connection and pride. I’m not just teaching; I’m giving back to the place that gave me so much. It's rewarding to create relationships with students and their families, and to offer the same support, encouragement, and inspiration I received growing up. Ultimately, it feels like I’m part of a legacy, continuing the work of the teachers who inspired me, and I can't imagine doing it anywhere else."
Thank you, Kassie, for continuing to make Livonia a special place to learn and grow! 🐾🧡💙#ThrowbackThursday #OnceABulldog
