Driver Education

Driver Education

Livonia Central School will be offering the classroom and driving portion of the NYS Driver Education program this summer. We will be offering one six-week session.  According to New York State Education Law, students must attend all classes to receive their MV285 (blue card).   Please do not enroll in driver education if you know there will be days you will be on vacation and unable to attend. We can work around a few days, but you cannot miss weeks.  There will be one driver education instructor offering sessions this summer.  The schedule is listed below:

  • June 29th - August 7th 2026

  • Class lectures will be held every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm in the Middle/High School.

  • FINAL EXAM

    • Thursday, July 28th from 10:30-12:00

    • This will be given in class. Everyone must take and pass it to receive their blue card.

In addition, students are required to have 24 hours of driving instruction. More information will be provided during the classroom course on specific details surrounding the driving requirement.

Applications need to be completed with full payment by June 12th

The cost of this course is $200.00 for district residents and $550.00 for out-of-district students. To enroll, students must be 16 years of age and have their permit by June 29th, and complete the application and payment below.

Once students are selected, a payment link will be shared via email. Selected students will have two weeks to submit payment, due by June 20, 2026. Failure to meet this deadline will result in the forfeiture of your spot, which will then be offered to the next student on the waiting list.

Enrollment & Selection Process

Due to limited capacity, only 24 students will be accepted into the program. Enrollment will be determined through a lottery system, with priority given by current grade level, starting with rising seniors. Livonia Central School students will receive priority over out-of-district applicants. All other students will be placed on a waiting list. Notifications of acceptance will be sent by the beginning of June.
